Why XARA
Conversations are hard to practise. Role-play in class takes time and nerve, and a real conversation cannot be repeated. XARA creates a space to practise where mistakes carry no consequences and any situation can be run again as often as needed.

Community says
Aus dem Wunsch, Personalgespräche zu üben, ist XARA entstanden: Ein einsatzfähiges Produkt, das Gespräche in virtuellen Umgebungen realitätsnah simuliert. Mit der Webplattform XARA konnten wir individuell gestaltete Gesprächsszenarien zum Thema Rekrutierung, Konflikt und Kündigung anlegen. Die Dialoge bewegen sich im Rahmen der Szenarien – passen sich aber dynamisch an den Gesprächsverlauf an. Mit XARA schaffen wir ein weiteres Weiterbildungsangebot an der Universität St. Gallen. Parallel dazu forschen wir im Rahmen einer Studie zum Erlernen von Kommunikationsfähigkeiten mit XARA in virtuellen Umgebungen.

Communication skills matter at school, at work, and in everyday life. XARA makes them trainable, with interactive scenarios modelled on real conversations. The XARA Community connects educational institutions to use and develop modern learning formats together.
XARA was developed at the University of St. Gallen together with afca.ag. Today the platform is open to a growing community. It runs on a non-profit basis, and development is shared.
